National Award 2013

Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries has honoured Fr. Aji Sebastian with National Award 2013 for his significant contribution in the field of Indigenous Herbs and Poultry Farming. The award function was at Chandigarh on 12 Oct. 2013 and organized by Central Poultry Development Organization (Northern Region) Chandigarh.

Sheethali Chikithsa Training, Nalgonda – (AP)

MSMM Society, Nalgonda – AP invited the Darsanalaya Society to conduct a Sheethali Chikithsa training in their centre for a week. The course was conducted from 25th to 30th of July 2011. It was a 30 hours of training for fifteen health workers from different parts of Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. The training was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Jeevan the Vicar of Cathedral Parish, Nalgonda.
The importance of herbal medicines and combinations were discussed in an elaborated manner. The need of nature friendly life and promotion of herbal plantation was also a major subject. All the participants took a pledge for the promotion and the herbal plantation. The certificates of the course were distributed among the participants at the end of the course.

Yoga and Sheethali Chikithsa Training – Agra (UP)

Darsanalaya Society conducted a 4 days of Sheethali Chikithsa training and Yoga class in Masih Vidyapith, Etmadpur, Agra – UP, for its students. The program was arranged from July 18th – 23rd 2011. The Classes were arranged for two groups. First group was students of Orientation group and the second group was of the philosophy students.
Most of the students are from the rural areas of our country and will be working in the rural areas of Northern part of India in their future. The herbal combinations and the preparations were given to the students. Every morning there was yoga training for the students with meditation.

Sheethali Chikithsa Training, Kotdwar - (Uttra Khand)

Karuna Social Service Society, balasaur, Kotdwar invited Darsanalaya Society to conduct a training on Sheethali Chikithsa. The Training was conducted on 26th to 30th of June 2011. There were 36 participants from Uttar Pradesh and Uttara Khand.
The program was inaugurated on 26th in a short ceremony of lighting the lamb. There were five hours of classes regularly. Staff, area coordinators, local coordinators and field level staffs of Karuna Society participated in the training. Most of the participants were from health related areas and it was easy to share the matter to them. The classes were conducted by Fr. Aji Sebastian the father of Sheethali Chikithsa.
At the end of the seminar, knowing the importance the system, a unit of Sheethali Chikithsa was planned out in Nathewali a remote village in Uttar Khand. Fr. Aji visited the proposed village and offered all the guidance and support.

Hand in Hand with
Sacred Heart Collage,
Tevera, Kochi


Darsanalaya Society made its collaboration with the Sacred Heart Collage, Kochi – Kerala, for the academicals part of the Sheethali Chikithsa. The management of the college has shown a great interest in the health mission of Darsanalaya. The Botany and the Zoology departments gave their consent to work for preparation of the syllabus and the study materials to make Sheethali Chikithsa. Our Director Fr. Aji Sebastian stayed with the departments for a week from 20th – 25th of June 2011 and developed a syllabus of the Diploma Course in Heat Reduction Therapy. It was also a time for the sharing of the concepts of Sheethali Chikithsa with the students of the College. Through the Diploma Course our mission is to reach out the rural public who are deprived of health facilities.

Romarinda Group of Educational Institutions

Director of the Society Fr. Aji Sebastian made a short visit to Philippines from 18th to 25th of May 2011. The visit was to see the promotion of the ARG Darsanalaya Foundation in the country. The major agenda of the visit was the discussion between Romarinda Educational systems who are working in the field of Education and the promotion of Alternative medicines. There were different meetings with the Chairman Dr. Hae. D. Lee of Romarinda Group of Educational Institutions.
It was a time to exchange the knowledge between each other. Dr. Lee has agreed to accept Sheethali Chikithsa as a subject in their Curriculum.

Village Visit in Darjiling, West Bengal

Fr. Aji visited different basties to see the health situation of the people living in hill stations. The major hill stations were Gitdubling, Pudung, Tanyang, Peren, Today, Dargiling, Petong etc. It was really a matter of joy that many people are taking the simple medicine of Sheethali Chikithsa. The end of the 10 days visit to Kalimpong was with the establishment of an herbal processing unit in Kalimpong and these herbal combinations will be moving to the hills stations in Darjiling district of West Bengal and in Nepal. It will make cheaper price to the medicines and the poor and needy can have an affordable health system. Sr. Alka Thapa SJC was appointed as the in-charge of the unit.

Seminar at Kalingpong, West Bengal

Darsanalaya Society conducted one day seminar for the teachers and the senior students of St. Phliomena’s Girls Higher Secondary School Kalimpong. The subject was ‘Healthy Living’. There were four hours of talk which discussed on personal health management and self healing through the simple herbal combinations. There were around 200 students and 80 teachers for the programme.

Seminar and Taining in Kalingpong, West Bengal

Seminar and Training Programme was arranged by the Congregation of St. Joseph of Cluny. Seminar on Rural Health Care followed five day Sheethali Chikithsa training conducted by Darsanalaya Society in Kalimpong, West Bangal from 22nd to 26th March 2011. It was a follow up progamme. Many of the centers are already practicing the Sheethali medicines after the last training. It was a systematic course on Sheethali Chikithsa for 30 hours. There were health workers from different north eastern states, Nepal and Bhutan. Sixty eight participates were there to attend the seminar. There were regular yoga and meditation and the theory classes with practical sessions. All the participants were given the certificate for 30 hours course on basics of Sheethali chikithsa.

There was a meeting with the core team after the training session. The discussion was how to promote the system and the team made the decision to make the herbal garden in Pudong to address the herbal needs for the common disease in the area. The forum also proposed to start a common herbal manufacturing unit to serve all.

Taining in Jagdalpur - Chhattisgarh

The Inauguration ceremony of Sheethali Chikithsa was held at Ashirvad Holistic Centre on 21st February 2011 at 10.30 am. Honourable Kiran Deo, Mayor of Jagdalpur, inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp. Honourable guests Shri. Sancram Singh Rana, the BJP youth President; Shri S Srinivas Rao, the forest Conservator; Rev. Fr. Thomas Vadakumkara CMI, The Vicar General of Diocese addressed the gathering on the importance of health awareness. Mother Anit SABS, the Provincial Superior were the chief guest.

Rev. Fr. Aji Sebastian took 30 hours of Class on Sheethali Chikithsa from 21st Feb to 26th Feb. There were 16 participants from different parts of the country. There were Theory and practical classes on Sheethali Chikithsa and one hour yoga class and one hour meditation were conducted regularly.

The certificates were distributed to the participants by Rev. Dr. Antony Kariyil CMI, Provincial of S H Province, Kochi at the closing ceremony on 26th 2011.

Darsanalaya Foundation Philippines team in India

As per schedule the team reached Darsanalaya Ashram at Chandpur on 1st January 2011. Dr. Cristina Evelyn Gonzales, the director and Co-founder of Wellness Institute International (Philippines), Ms.Mary Grace Navarro Dease, associate of Wellness Institute (Germany), Dr. Aileen Renee Geronilla, founder and the Director of Victoria Snow Herbal products and Ms. Amy Rosalyn Geronilla from Philippines visited major Darsanalaya centres across India for fifteen days. Dr. Aileen is the Co-founder of the Darsanalaya Foundation in Philippines. They were moving through the Clinics of Delhi, Haryana and Kerala.

In addition to every day classes on Sheethali Chikithsa there were exposure to the various indigenous herbal preparations and visit to herbal gardens / herbariums. As part of extended collaboration and future projects, the Director and the team of Wellness Institute International to study about the activities and research of Darsanalaya. The enthusiastic visitors thrilled by the simple methods and happy to adopt similar methods systematically for Darsanalaya mission in Philippine provinces.

Darsanalaya Foundation in Philippines



Darsanalaya Foundation in Philippines made its new step in the promotion of natural medicines and its training in the country. The meeting between Wellness Institute International and the Foundation were successful. Each shares the same principle with their mission and vision.

Wellness Institute International is a primary health and wellness research and teaching centre registered in California - USA, Manila - Philippines and in Lourdes – France. Its main thrust is prevention and control of disease, maintenance of o ptimal health and promotion of the individual inherent self-healing process which natural medicine refers to as the “vis medicatrix nature”, the healing power of nature.

Darsanalaya was doing its mission with the same concept in India for last six years. As the part of extended collaboration and future projects, the Director and the team of the Institute will visit India during the 1st week of January 2011 to study about the activities and research of Darsanalaya.

Belize in Central America



Fr. Aji Sebastian the Director of Darsanalaya visited Belize, the central American country with rich Mayan traditions, from 17th to 29th of October. He had meetings with Hon. Rene Montero, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Wilfred Elrington, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, H. E. Mr. Alexis Rosado CEO and the Ambassador, Mr. Mike Thomas, Managing Director BAHA.

The Main aghenda of the meeting was to know about the Mayan Medicines, Explore the economic viability of herbal Medicines, to promote good health and expand the outreach of health care and to improve the quality of teaching of health workers. He also visited the traditional Mayan medical practitioners and spent time with them in their herbal gardens.

Taining in Kalimpong - West Bangal


Darsanalaya Society conducted a three day Sheethali Chikithsa training in Kalimpong in West Bangal from 22nd to 24th September 2010. The programme was arranged by the Congregation of St. Joseph of Cluny. There were around 53 participants for the training. “There are so many hill stations were the health facilities are not reached and the training in simple herbs will help the poor in this area”, said Sr. Anna Lepcha, the Provincial.

A team was formed for the preparation of the medicines for all the hill stations around the Darjeeling District. The participants or the training were the health workers from different hill station of Darjeeling District of West Bengal

Darsanalaya Foundation Philippines


Fr. Aji Sebastian visited Manila from 20th -28th of July 2010 for the programs of Darsanalaya Foundation. The foundation arranged different Medical awareness classes of home remedies and health and hygiene in slums of Metro Manila in collaboration with Layola Medical Mission of Ateneo De Manila University. There were also free medical camps in the different areas.

Foundation made discussions with Atty. Dionisio (Pasic City Administrator), Mr. Yoyong Matirez (Vice Mayor). The city administration appreciated the activities of the Foundation and extended their help in all its activities. There were also discussions between the Department of Education to start a course in Natural Medicines.

Taining in Jagdalpur - Chhattisgarh


Society in association with Bastar Sewak Mandal conducted Four Day medical herbal training in Jagdlpur, Chhattisgarh from 25th to 28th of July 2010. The program was arranged for the health works promotion of Jagdalpur Diocese. There were 15 participants for the training. All most all of them were the villages who practice traditional herbal combinations and it was really a time for them to enrich their knowledge.


Herbal Training in Bastar - Chhattisgarh


Darsanalaya Society arranged a Herbal Training in Bastar District in Chhattisgarh in association with Ashirvad Holistic Health Centre. There were forty participants for the training. It was a seven days training from 21st to 26th June 2010. The subjects included, Introduction to Ayurveda, Basic Anatomy of human body, Health and Hygiene, Yoga, Meditation, Diet, Herbal Combinations, Cultivation of Herbs etc.

It was really a great success. There were participants from Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. It was an impressive venture with a systematic medical training in association with AHHC. AHHC is a place where the same mission of Darsanalaya is practiced.

Herbal Training in Ballarpurr - Maharashtra

Montfort ITI & NIOS Ballarpur invited the Society for a herbal training and free medicinal consultation for the villages around their institution. Society gave training for 18 young people in Sheethali Chikithsa for four days from June 7th to 10th of June 2010. The society helped them to start a herbal preparation unit for the village people. At the end of the seminar a team of four was selected to train the simple herbal combination to the village people.

Herbal Training in Chandpur Village - Faridabad



The Society arranged a ten days herbal training in its project centre in Darsanalaya Ashram Faridabad. There were 11 participants for the training. The training was from 20th to 30th of May 2010. It was arranged for the health works and two of the students were from USA. During the training there were two village herbal training, free medical camps and awareness classes in the schools for students. The participants also visited the clinics in different parts of Delhi and in Haryana.

Sheethali Chikithsa Training


Darsanalaya arranged a ten days Residential herbal training programme at the project center in Darsanalaya Institute of Alternative Medicines and Research from 28th of March to 8th of April. There were fourteen participants from different parts of the country. The students were from Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkand and Delhi. They were taught the importance of Traditional medicines, basics of Sheethali Chikithsa and its herbal combinations, yoga and other alternative system in a gist manner. All most all of them were with medical back ground and the training was very much fruitful.

Fr. Aji Sebastian who introduced the system of Sheethali Chikithsa and the founder of Darsanalaya Institutions were appreciated by Rotary International. Herbal Training in M P


Darsanalaya Institute of Alternative Medicines and Research Conducted three days introductory session on Sheethali Chikithsa and herbal medicines at the project center of Sanjeevani Society, Usri, Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh from 24th to 26th of March 2010. Sanjeevani is active in this tribal area since 1992 for the uplift of the people in near by villages. Darsanalaya is associated with Sanjeevani for last four years. Every year we provide the herbal training for the tribal and non-tribal of the local villages were people are deprived of medical facilities. There were around 65 participants for the training program. There was also free herbal consultation with the training. There were two session of two hours of training and discussion each day.

Herbal Awarness Camp in Haryana


Darsanalaya Institute of Alternative Medicines and Research conducted a herbal training programme in the village Bahadarpur of Ballabgrah Block of Faridabad on 7th of March 2010. The aim of the training was to reach out the simple and non toxic herbal medicines to rural population. It included simple herbal combinations for the common diseases seen in the locality. The Training was open to the public and there were around 40 plus participants for the training.

The launch of Darsanalaya in Philippines was held at Pasig Cathedral Manila, Philippines. Acharya Isaibaba (Dr. Aji Sebastian CMI), the Director of Darsanalaya and the founder of ‘Sheethali Chikithsa’ was invited to Philippines by Diocese of Pasing to attend the Inaugural Function and following one week (22- 27 Feb. 2010), Seminar on Herbal Medicine and Sheethali Chikithsa.
It is the beginning of, a lifelong quest of opening wellness and health for the poor needy people in this country.Ms. Maria Victoria Geronilla with her daughter Ms. Aileen Snow Geronilla and their family have taken the initiative for the formation of Darsanalaya Foundation in Philippines. New Centre opened in Maharashtra


Darsanalaya was invited by Montfort ITI & NIOS Ballarpur in Maharashtra. In order to start the medical health camp and training, a group of five reached the project center at Faridabad for 10 days of training. On 15th of January 2010, the centre was officially inaugurated at the Montfort campus in Ballarpur. Montfort is involved with lots of social activities since 1981. We had two days programme and the inauguration was on 15th Jan. at 10 am. Br. Mathew the Director of the Institution welcomed and introduced the Darsanalaya mission to the public.  Fr. Aji Sebastian introduced the importance of traditional medicines and simple herbal medicines for common diseases and there were two days of free herbal medical consultation for the public. There were around 160 patients from the near by villages.

Acharya Isai Baba in Philippines

Acharya Isai Baba in Manila 19-25 of October 2009, honoring an invitation from the Ateneo University to attend a seminar at the East Asian Pastoral Institute, to an international group of scholars and missionaries. He introduced to them the Seethali Chikithsa, a unique system of treatment that he has developed, tested and now is being acknowledged by the World.
A blending of spirituality and herbal medicine, Sheethali Chikithsa is making waves as an effective system of healing and healthy life. The CMI family in Manila felt elated and proud of their congregation, as Brother Acharya Isai Baba engaged the intellectuals, medical practitioners and Spiritual masters of the Philippines, in showing the strength of the Sheethali Chikithsa and turning many of them to his disciples.
